According to reports by the children of Android Geeks seems to Samsung Galaxy S3 and Note 2 could receive the advance distribution to Android 4.4.2 at the end of the first quarter of 2014.
After contacting an engineer at Samsung, it seems that, as a response to the question about a possible update for these two devices have received a confirmation. The same engineer would report that the update will be there and it is scheduled for the end of Q1, 2014, shortly after the release for Samsung Galaxy S4 and Notes 3 . In practice, the engineer has run missed two pieces of information into one answer, namely that the update to Android 4.4 for Galaxy S4 and Notes 3 will arrive officially in recent weeks and that for the Galaxy S3 and Note 2 might arrive soon after. We know that the update to Android 4.4.2 for Galaxy Note 3 is already out, instead of Galaxy S4 expect the official release.
We can not in any way say if what reported is true or not, but we know that the update to Android 4.4 for Galaxy S4 is around the corner. Possibly then Galaxy S3 and Note 2 might see another advance of distribution, but we have to take this news as a rumor very interesting, but to verify. We’ll see what happens over the next few days and if Samsung will confirm or not.
