G vs Optimus Note 2: software customizations by comparing ... - HDblog (Blog)

There is much talk often of software customizations, modifications that manufacturers make to Android and functionality that are implemented by companies within their own smartphones and tablets with Google Mobile system. Samsung and LG are definitely together with HTC, manufacturers that most smartphones customize not only adding more programs, but completely changing the home creating a system approach to the UI definitely very different from the Nexus range and, in some respects, better and more full of options. Today we offer a challenge to the whole Korean focuses on their differences customization Optimus G and Notes 2. The contamination of aesthetic customization of the two producers can be seen clearly but both devices are able to have their own identity very specific and though many will know the Touch Wiz, customizing LG is no exception and in fact, we all seemed even better structured, with very nice options.

Although

Notes 2 and Optimus G can be considered as two very different products, at the hardware level are really very similar with almost the same power even if the processor is changed in favor of a Snapdragon S4 Pro which is slightly more dell’Exynos Samsung’s new 1.6GHz.

Furthermore, if on the one hand the Notes 2 S-Pen suite has a really well done and very interesting, on the other Optimus G responds with the option Quick Memo that you see below, very effective and very immediate to use. We are lovers of Note 2, but do not deny that the use of the S-Pen we do is very limited and often use it for notes and little else. The solution LG, though more limited, it is nonetheless appreciated and immediate access (more than 2 notes) simply by pressing the volume buttons together and therefore able to offer a valuable management notes.

Clearly Optimus G does not have a Wacom panel and for those who choose Notes 2 because of the handwriting features S-Pen, the differences in terms of accuracy in writing and drawing are obviously significant and promote the Samsung also on the software side and interaction with all the UI that provides special in many programs when used with the S-Pen.

Optimus G also offers greater freedom of customization with a number of preset themes (would have been charged even the possibility of putting the standard Android theme as it happens with Huawei) and more options for the portion of the lock screen for watches selection.

In contrast the 2 notes have the option, always release from the menu, to show notifications lost and now simply passing a hand over the proximity sensor and allows you to launch the camera with a rotation of the smartphone while clicking the screen. Small differences that are not macroscopic but showing that on the one hand LG has pushed more about customizing the user trying to find all the tools to make it in his own image and likeness smartphone, Samsung has chosen the path on the other advanced controls, motion control, voice interaction with tilt and with S-Voice that improve esprienza of use everyday.

These additional differences that we have not addressed in the video. We close by saying that the management of multitasking via multiwindows is now one of the distinctive features of Samsung that, even in the presence of QSlide of LG with popup windows , can not be traveled by other competitors.

Two similar customizations so that they differ in many respects, but that show how LG has matured, grown and has implemented functional and aesthetic choices still appreciable. We’ll see how it will evolve customization made in Korea and the fight between Samsung and LG whereas their LG seems to have finally found the right formula to worry their rivals. For those who do not find enjoyable these interfaces, the beautiful Sense 5.0 HTC Nexus One or the alternatives are more concrete (but keep an eye Huawei).
